The
primary assessments used by Brennan Associates are the 4-D Individual
Development and Team Assessment. The assessments are completed
online and provide the individual or team an opportunity for
a 360 degree look at perceptions around 8 critical factors that
make up the 4-Dimensions (4-D) of leadership. The report
presentation provides data for the recipient to identify gaps
for additional exploration and learning. The assessments
also give a common context and language to the participants’ experience. The
assessments are grounded in theory and have over time developed
a substantial database to allow for benchmarking of results with
leaders across various fields.
The 4-D work was developed by Charlie Pellerin, PhD, President
of 4-D Systems and former Director of Astrophysics for NASA. The
assessment tool has been in use since 1995. The individual
assessments are benchmarked against the most recent 1,000 first
time assessments and teams are benchmarked against the most recent
300. The 4-D assessments and workshops have been successfully
used within NASA over many years. 4-D and NASA were recognized
by the International Coach Federation as recipients of the 2007
PRISM Award for their measurable success.
The 4-D Performance Development System takes the guesswork out of ongoing leadership
and team development. A two and one-half day workshop provides participants
with an in-depth look at what it means to be a 4-Dimensional leader and support
in getting there. The Individual Development Assessment and Team Development
Assessment are online 360 assessment tools that measure individual and team perceived
effectiveness on eight critical factors the comprise the 4-Dimensions: Expressing
Authentic Appreciation, Addressing Shared Interests, Appropriately Including
Others, Keeping All Agreements, Expressing Reality-based Hope, Being 100% Committed,
Resisting Blaming and Complaining and Clarifying Roles, Accountability and Authority. The
assessments provide participants with team and individual feedback that serves
as a framework for development and follow up action. Assessments can be
done in conjunction with or independent of a workshop.
